Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence and Military Production Lt Gen Ashraf Salem Zaher said Saturday that the Armed Forces have always served as the nation’s protective shield and steadfast pillar throughout history.
The Armed Forces, he added, have always maintained readiness to defend Egypt’s borders across all strategic directions.
During a reception of a delegation from the Committee on Defence and National Security in the House of Representatives at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in the New Capital, the army chief expressed deep appreciation for the national role played by the legislature in supporting the nation’s security pillars.
Attending the meeting was a host of senior army commanders, including Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lt Gen Ahmed Khalifa, along with Chairman of the Committee on Defence and National Security in the parliament Lt. Gen. Mohamed Abbas Helmy.
The committee members, meanwhile, congratulated the Armed Forces on the occasion of the 53rd anniversary of the glorious October victory.
This victory, they said, remains an enduring lesson in patriotism, self-sacrifice, and unyielding determination for successive generations.
They also commended the dedicated efforts of the Armed Forces in safeguarding Egypt’s vital assets.
