Egypt’s Ministry of Culture has unveiled a comprehensive nationwide programme to celebrate Eid Al-Adha (the Greater Bairam), featuring a wide range of theatrical performances, musical and folkloric shows, film screenings, and cultural and artistic activities across the country’s governorates. The initiative forms part of the ministry’s broader strategy to promote public engagement with the arts and expand access to cultural services nationwide.
Minister of Culture Jehan Zaki said the Eid programme reflects the ministry’s commitment to spreading joy and making arts and culture accessible to all segments of society, while reinforcing the role of culture in enriching public life and promoting creativity and awareness.
The minister stressed that achieving cultural justice and extending cultural services to all regions of Egypt remain among the ministry’s top priorities. She highlighted several ongoing initiatives, including the ‘Mobile Theatre project’, ‘Art Street’, mobile libraries, ‘Cinema of the People’, and artistic performances at metro stations.
Zaki added that the ministry is also preparing to launch new initiatives aimed at bringing cultural and artistic activities closer to citizens across the country and ensuring broader public access to creative and educational programmes.
