Arab League (AL) Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit said the conflict in Sudan threatens Arab national security.
In an interview with satellite channel Sada el-Balad, the AL’s chief urged the Sudanese army to ceasefire and work on reaching stability in Sudan.
Abul Gheit said that the coming Arab summit set for Jeddah on May 19 will have an impact on the situation in the Arab world in general.
A number of Arab leaders and foreign ministers will take part in the summit, he said.
