The meeting is part of the Egyptian government’s ongoing efforts to advance digital transformation and upgrade technological infrastructure across various sectors. It also comes in line of the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s strategy to enhance operational systems at Egyptian airports in accordance with the latest international standards.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the meeting discussed efforts to develop operational systems and strengthen the adoption of advanced digital solutions.

During the discussions, the SITA delegation presented the latest global trends shaping the future of travel and airport operations technology, highlighting the growing shift towards smart operations based on digital integration and artificial intelligence applications.

These developments aim to enhance the efficiency of airport management and deliver a smoother and more seamless passenger experience.

The meeting further explored a range of advanced technological solutions, including smart operational systems, real-time data exchange, biometric identification technologies, contactless travel processes, artificial intelligence applications, predictive analytics, and Airport Integrated Management (TAM) systems.

The meeting also highlighted international trends towards establishing unified operational platforms that connect airports, airlines, and relevant stakeholders through integrated digital systems, thereby enabling faster decision-making and improving overall operational efficiency.

Minister el-Hefny said that the ministry continues to implement its digital transformation programme and to upgrade operational systems across Egyptian airports.

He also emphasised that co-operation with specialised international companies is a key pillar of the Ministry’s strategy to develop the aviation sector, ensuring alignment with the rapid advancements in the global air transport industry and reinforcing operational sustainability.

For his part, SITA President Bouri commended the significant progress achieved by the Egyptian civil aviation sector in recent years, as well as the serious steps undertaken to upgrade airport operational and digital infrastructure.
