Egypt has strongly condemned what it described as “hostile attacks” launched by Iran against Kuwait, calling them a blatant violation of Kuwaiti sovereignty and a serious breach of international law and the United Nations Charter.
In a statement released by the Foreign Ministry on Thursday, Egypt reaffirmed its full solidarity with Kuwait in confronting what it described as “flagrant assaults” threatening the country’s security, stability and the safety of its citizens.
Egypt stressed its longstanding position that the security and stability of Kuwait and the Gulf states are an integral part of Egyptian and Arab national security.
It also expressed support for all measures taken by Kuwait to preserve its security and sovereignty.
Egypt also warned against the dangers of further escalation, which it said could undermine ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and restoring stability in the region.
