Egypt and Italy are working hard to boost ties on all levels, ambassador Bassam Radi said on Friday in Rome during a meeting with Italian President Sergio Mattarella.
Radi, who handed over his credentials as Egypt’s ambassador extraordinary to Italy, delivered a message from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Mattarella regarding the development of bilateral relations between the two countries and a number of issues of mutual interest.
Radi said after the meeting that the Italian president expressed his deep appreciation for President Sisi’s wise
leadership of Egypt over the past few years.
Mattarella praised Egypt’s key role in the Mediterranean region and its strategic contributions to regional security as a whole.
Radi has said Egypt is looking forward to boosting economic partnership with Italy, citing opportunities in wide range of sectors such as energy, green transformation,trade, industrial localisation,technology transfer, regional security and other political issues, i.e. illegal migration and the situation in Libya.
