Chairman of the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) Mokhtar Abdel Latif held talks on Tuesday with Lieutenant General Banza Mwilambwe Jules, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC), and his accompanying delegation.

The talks focused on means to enhance frameworks for co-operation and leveraging AOI’s advanced capabilities to meet the needs of development projects as well as defence and security industries in Congo.

The discussions also addressed identifying potential areas of joint collaboration across various manufacturing sectors.

The AOI chairman underscored the importance of strengthening co-operation with African countries, in line with directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to open new horizons for co-operation and integration with African partners across industrial and economic fields, while expanding export channels into African markets.

He expressed pride in the strong bilateral relations between Cairo and Kinshasa, stressing the importance of sustaining coordination and joint action, as well as deepening ties through the exploration of new opportunities in defence and security industries.

For his part, the Chief of Staff of the Congolese Armed Forces affirmed his country’s keenness to strengthen partnership with Egypt across industrial and developmental sectors. He voiced appreciation for the visit to AOI, describing it as a key industrial backbone of the Egyptian state.
