Egypt’s Minister of Labour Hassan Raddad underscored the deep-rooted ties between Egypt and Sudan, describing them as relations built on strong fraternal and popular bonds.

He stressed Egypt’s keenness to support the Sudanese people in various fields, particularly in development and human capacity building.

The minister met on Monday with Sudan’s Ambassador to Egypt Emad El-Din Mostafa Adawi to explore avenues of co-operation in the fields of labour and vocational training.

The meeting reviewed opportunities to expand co-operation in training and qualifying Sudanese youth in professions needed by Sudan’s labour market, drawing on Egypt’s experience in linking training to employment.

The initiative aims to prepare skilled technical cadres capable of contributing to Sudan’s reconstruction and development efforts.

Both sides also discussed co-operation in promoting occupational safety and health culture in workplaces, as well as exchanging expertise in digitising and modernising labour inspection systems.

They further explored the possibility of implementing specialised training programmes in key sectors of the Sudanese labour market, particularly construction, food industries and related professions, in addition to tailoring and embroidery, in order to equip Sudanese youth with skills aligned with labour market needs.

The Sudanese ambassador commended the support provided by the Egyptian state to Sudanese nationals residing in Egypt in recent years.

He also affirmed his country’s interest in enhancing co-operation with Egypt’s Ministry of Labour to benefit from Egyptian expertise in vocational training and professional qualification.
