Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptians Abroad Badr Abdel-Aati has reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions across the region.
In a telephone conversation on Monday with Türkiye’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, the minister further stressed the importance of advancing dialogue and political solutions as the only viable path towards reducing regional tensions and resolving ongoing disputes, the Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ambassador Tamim Khallf said.
Abdel-Aati also underlined the need for all parties to adopt responsible and prudent positions that contribute to safeguarding regional security and stability, while preserving the interests and capabilities of the peoples of the region, he added.
The discussions also addressed developments in negotiations between the United States and Iran, with both ministers emphasising the importance of supporting the diplomatic track and encouraging continued engagement through peaceful means.
The two top diplomats further reviewed the strong and growing bilateral relations between Egypt and Türkiye, reaffirming their shared commitment to enhancing cooperation across various sectors in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two friendly countries and supports the aspirations of their peoples for greater prosperity and development.
