The government agreed Sunday to submit to the House of Deputies a draft law to amend the property registration law in order to give the cabinet the chance to postpone the implementation of this law until the end of December 2021.
This came during a meeting Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli held yesterday with a group of cabinet ministers to discuss the draft law.
During the meeting, PM Madbouli emphasised that the interests of citizens constitute state’s guiding goal, pointing out that deferring the entry of this law into force until the end of this year will provide an opportunity to co-operate with the parliament in setting out some ideas to facilitate property registration for citizens.
Madbouli said that about 95 per cent of Egypt’s real estate is unregistered, adding that the government hopes that all citizens will register their properties, with the aim of fortifying and preserving their properties.
