The cabinet under Moustafa Madbouli approved during its weekly meeting on Thursday new regulations governing this season’s Umrah (minor pilgrimage) for hijri months of Rajab, Shaaban and Ramadan.
The new regulations were taken after Saudi Arabia agreed to allow vaccinated Egyptians to perform Umrah provided that they abide by precautionary measures to limit the outbreak of Covid 19.
The new regulations will be enacted for both pilgrims and tourist companies organising Umrah programmes.
