Egypt’s Border Guard Forces, working with the main branches and formations of the Armed Forces, are maintaining tight security along the country’s land and coastal borders. Operations rely on highly trained personnel supported by advanced weapons, surveillance systems, communication tools, four-wheel-drive vehicles, coastal patrol boats, X-ray scanners, and trained dogs to detect smuggled goods.

Recent efforts led to 33 cases involving weapons and ammunition, with 96 firearms and 3,600 rounds seized. In drug-related operations, 79 cases were recorded, resulting in the confiscation of about 351 tons of narcotics, 750,000 pills, 5 tons of ground hydro, and the destruction of several drug farms.

Authorities also intercepted 168 cases of smuggled goods, including 50 tons of petroleum products, over 500,000 packs of cigarettes, and other items worth around one billion pounds. In illegal gold mining, 58 cases were stopped, with 20 metal detectors, 200 drills, 118 generators, and 86 tons of gold ore seized.

Border guards confiscated 500 vehicles and foiled 115 attempts of illegal infiltration and migration, detaining nearly 99,886 individuals of various nationalities.

The total value of seized items is estimated at 40 billion pounds. All cases have been referred to the relevant authorities for legal action.

These achievements highlight the continuous round-the-clock efforts of Egypt’s Border Guard Forces to secure all border crossings and strategic directions, reinforcing national stability and security.
