Cairo- Abdel Moneim el-Terras, Head of the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) and Sheikh Rashid Malachi Nyiragira, Ambassador of Burundi in Cairo met Wednesday to enhance economic and trade co-operation. The meeting also tackled exchanging expertise and training.

 

These discussions come within the framework of Egypt’s keenness to maintain relations Nile Basin countries in view of its pioneering role in achieving sustainable development in African countries.

Boosting industrial cooperation with Burundi 13 - Egyptian Gazette

The meeting dealt with ways to strengthen co-operation between Egypt and Burundi through investment and industry, by benefiting from AOI experience in defense and civil industries, infrastructure, water technologies and supplies.

 

El-Terras stressed the importance of implementing President Abdel Fattah el Sisi’s directives to enhance cooperation with Nile Basin countries and all the countries of the African continent in industrialisation.

 

There are joint committees to lay the foundations for cooperation between the two countries and to develop economic and trade cooperation with the participation of many Egyptian and Burundian experts, el-Terras said.

The AOI puts all its manufacturing and technological capabilities to participate in the various development projects in Burundi with the offer of training at the AOI academy.

 

For his part, Nyiragira hailed Egypt’s efforts to support economic relations and industrial and commercial cooperation with Nile Basin countries.

 

During his visit to the AOI Products Exhibition, Nirajera spoke highly of the manufacturing and technical capabilities of the AOI and the richness and diversity of its defense and civil products.

 

Nyiragira expressed his country’s ambition to enhance cooperation with AOI in all fields of industry.
