The complex of black sand factories primarily aims to establish new industrial zones, provide foreign currencies by exporting surplus, clear beaches from environmentally harmful radioactive materials, said the Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Centre (IDSC).
The project also aims to provide 5,000 direct and indirect jobs, and develop the infrastructure, added the IDSC in a new infographic published on Tuesday under the rubric “Complex of blank sand factories in Egypt… the latest of its kind in the world.”
The report said that this project is considered one of the most important national projects at the current stage.
The project was officially inaugurated in October on a total area spanning 35 feddans at a total cost worth LE4 billion, according to the report.
The high-tech ‘Long Live Egypt’ dredger, which is eco-friendly, will be used in this project, added the report.
