Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ayman Ashour and Minister of Awqaf (Religious Endowments) Osama el-Azhari on Thursday explored ways to make better use of the services offered by the Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB).
The two ministers sides reviewed mechanisms for providing scientific content, databases, and digital resources through the EKB to benefit imams, preachers, and researchers of the Ministry of Awqaf.
They also discussed the possibility of producing simple educational cartoons aimed at promoting positive values and proper behaviour among children.
The EKB has become one of the world’s leading digital knowledge platforms, offering a wide range of educational, cultural, and research resources. Minister Ashour said.
He also highlighted the praise it received from UNESCO and UNICEF as a pioneering model following a study visit by delegations from 21 countries.
The knowledge bank evolved beyond a digital platform to become a strategic tool for training researchers, supporting institutions, and advancing Egypt’s Vision 2030 and Sustainable Development Goals, he further noted.
He emphasised the importance of collaboration between the two ministries to maximise the EKB’s benefits, helping spread knowledge and culture among students, researchers, and imams.
For his part, Minister el-Azhari underscored the value of this co-operation in empowering imams and researchers with modern knowledge and research tools.
He noted that greater access to EKB resources will enhance their academic and intellectual capacities, enable innovation in religious and cultural content, and further Egypt’s leadership in using digital technology to promote knowledge and positive social values.
