Egyptian Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine el-Qabbag on Thursday thanked the governor of Sharqia and its security director for assisting the governorate’s social solidarity unit to transfer elderly homeless people to alternative accommodation.
The ‘Together for Saving a Human’ association in Cairo and the ‘Society Development’ association in Sharqia received the 175 people who were moved from the care of Basma Charity Association in Sharqiya Governorate.
The ministry revoked the license of the Basma Charity Association on the grounds of negligence and its license was revoked.
El-Qabbag asserted her ministry’s determination to protect homeless children and elderly and give them decent life in care centres.
