Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population Dr Khaled Abdel Ghaffar announced that the presidential initiative “Bedaya – A New Beginning for Human Development” has reached a significant milestone, providing over 154 million services since its launch.

In the past four days alone, the initiative has delivered 8.5 million services, benefiting a wide range of citizens.

These services encompass various sectors, including healthcare, social services, women’s empowerment, youth development, and economic empowerment.

The healthcare sector has seen significant progress, with over 7 million therapeutic and preventive services provided, including family planning, home visits, pregnancy follow-ups, and child growth monitoring. Additionally, 69 medical convoys have been deployed to reach remote areas and provide essential healthcare services.

Social services have also been a key focus of the initiative. Over 32,000 citizens have received social assistance, including education, grants, marriage support, and compensation. Furthermore, 25,000 beneficiaries have received cash support through the Takaful and Karama programme.

The initiative has also focused on women’sempowerment, with over 40,000 women benefiting from training programmes and rural development initiatives. These programmes aim to equip women with the skills and knowledge to enable them to contribute to their communities and improve their livelihoods.

Youth development has also been a key component of the initiative. Over 417,000 young people participated in various sports and cultural activities, promoting healthy lifestyles and fostering social cohesion.

The economic empowerment component of the initiative has supported the establishment of over 12,000 small and micro-enterprises, creating job opportunities and stimulating economic growth.

The “Bedaya” initiative has also focused on capacity building and skill development. Over 2,000 individuals have benefited from financial inclusion seminars, and 2,167 others participated in pre-marital training programmes.

Additionally, the initiative provided various documentation and certification services, reaching over 5,500 beneficiaries.

The initiative has organised public awareness campaigns and workshops on occupational safety and health, first aid, and workers’ rights, benefiting over 300 workers.

The “Bedaya” initiative continues to make significant strides in improving the lives of Egyptians, with a focus on providing essential services, empowering individuals, and fostering sustainable development.
