Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Holding Company Amr Abu Elenien said Mostafa Walid, who is suffering from a rare disease of the digestive system, along with his mother, left for New York on Tuesday on board of an EgyptAir flight to receive treatment.

In a statement, Abu Elenien said the move comes in implementation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to help Walid receive treatment abroad.

Walid received donations from many citizens to travel for treatment, he further said.

Upon directives from Aviation Minister Mohamed Manar, two free tickets were granted for Walid and his mother to travel to New York as a contribution from EgyptAir to supporting this humanitarian case, he added.
