Egyptian Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Mohamed Abdul A’ti visit was in Aswan Governorate inspect water projects.
Abdul A’ti, and Aswan Governor Ashraf Attya reviewed ministry irrigation and water schemes in the area and efforts to complete the work must be speeded up according to shedules, an official statement said.
The two officials also stressed the need for close coordination between the ministry and Aswan authorities on water policy in the governorate, the statement added.
The minister also inspected regular maintenance operations on the High Dam and rehabilitation work on the Aswan Dam.
The ministry is keen to follow up the structural conditions of all water facilities nationwide, topped with the two dams, the minister said.
Manual gates on the Aswan Dam are being replaced with an electronic system.
The minister also inspected the dam reservoir and two electricity power stations.
Abdul A’ti also toured the African Cultural Centre at the Nile Museum in Aswan, where he inspected recent development work.
