Arab League (AL) Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Media and Communication Sector Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi on Thursday praised the constructive visions and initiatives adopted by the Supreme Council for Media Regulation (SCMR) to develop media and reinforce its vital role in various fields.
Khattabi made the remarks during a meeting with SCMR Chairman and deputy head of the executive office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers Khaled Abdel Aziz, within the framework of preparations for the 55th session of the council that will take place next week at the AL headquarters.
The session will discuss a number of media issues.
Ambassador Khattabi, in a statement, expressed his appreciation for holding this ministerial session on the soil of Egypt, the host country, praising the SCMR for its competencies in ensuring the freedom, plurality, and diversity of the national media and digital landscape.
Khattabi extended appreciation for SCMR support for the event, as well as to all Egyptian media outlets for maintaining follow up on the AL activities professionally and adherence to legal and ethical standards.
