Minister of Defence and Military Production General Abdel-Meguid Saqr received on Tuesday Minister of Interior Mahmoud Tawfik, who headed a senior delegation from the Interior Ministry to convey congratulations to the Armed Forces on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of the October Victory.

The meeting was attended by Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa and a number of senior military commanders.

Minister Tawfik stressed that the glorious October Victory will forever remain a landmark chapter in Egypt’s military history, an enduring testament to the heroism and sacrifices of the Armed Forces, who have always proven themselves to be the finest soldiers on earth.

For his part, General Saqr reaffirmed that the Armed Forces and the Police stand as the two inseparable pillars of Egypt’s security and stability, working hand in hand to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty and protect its achievements, regardless of the sacrifices required. He also commended the steadfast efforts of police personnel in maintaining internal security and ensuring the safety of citizens.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Minister Tawfik presented General Saqr and Lieutenant General Khalifa with the Police Shield, while the defenceminister presented the Armed Forces Shield to the minister of interior in appreciation of continued co-operation between the two institutions.
