The Egyptian Armed Forces have urged the families of martyrs and wounded veterans of previous wars to apply for the disbursement of one-time financial compensation, responding to directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
The initiative aims at providing continued support to the families of the nation’s martyrs and injured servicemen in recognition of their sacrifices in defence of the homeland.
It also reflects the Armed Forces’ ongoing commitment to maintaining communication with the families of martyrs and wounded veterans who participated in the 1948 War, the 1956 War, the Yemen War, the 1967 War, the War of Attrition and the October War, particularly those who have not previously received compensation.
The Fund for Honouring the Martyrs, Victims, Missing Persons and Wounded of Military Operations and Their Families confirmed that a one-time payment of LE100,000 will be granted to the eligible beneficiaries of the martyr’s family, including the father, mother, widow and children.
Compensation for wounded veterans will be determined in accordance with the officially-approved disability percentage.
In cases where the wounded veteran has passed away, the compensation will be disbursed to the eligible family members, namely the father, mother, widow and children.
The fund also called upon beneficiaries to contact the competent authorities and submit the required documents proving the status of martyrdom or injury in order to complete the necessary procedures for disbursement.
