The Armed Forces have launched the second phase of a large-scale campaign to combat illegal gold mining in the Eastern Desert, following the success of the first phase of operations.
Armed Forces Spokesman Colonel Ahmed Etman announced that law enforcement personnel from the Armed Forces and the civilian police, in coordination with all relevant state authorities, have intensified search and raid operations targeting areas identified as being used for illegal gold mining activities.
The campaign forms part of the state’s ongoing efforts to protect Egypt’s natural resources and national wealth, preserve public assets and enforce the rule of law through close coordination among all concerned authorities.
