CAIRO – The General Secretariat of the Arab League said it pays great attention to banning all forms of tobacco smoking in enclosed public places.
In this regard, Assistant Secretary-General for Social Affairs Haifa Abu Ghazaleh noted on Monday that May 31 marks the World No-Tobacco Day, pointing out that tobacco is the largest public health threat to the world.
Tobacco causes the death of about 8 million people every year, including more than 7 million who use it directly, according to figures.
Abu Ghazaleh mentioned the Arab League’s adaption of the Arab Strategy for Health and Environment (2017-2030).
