Arab, Islamic countries condemn Israel’s rejection of Gaza roadmap 11 - Egyptian Gazette

Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia condemned on Sunday Israel’s declared rejection of the Roadmap for completing the implementation of US President Donald Trump’s Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict, endorsed by UN Security Council Resolution 2803, as well as its rejection of Palestinian statehood.

In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of these countries said Israel’s positions amount to a direct repudiation of the Comprehensive Plan, jeopardise its implementation and undermine collective efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace.

They stressed that Israel bears responsibility for obstructing efforts to end the war in Gaza and achieve peace across the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

The ministers said the Roadmap, accepted by Palestinian factions, is the outcome of extensive mediation efforts by Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye, the United States, the High Representative for Gaza and the Board of Peace.

They described it as a vital framework for the decommissioning of weapons alongside the withdrawal of Israeli forces, deployment of the International Stabilisation Force, transfer of administrative authority to the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, and reconstruction of the Strip.

They warned that rejecting the Roadmap threatens to derail efforts to end the war and called for sustained and active US engagement to ensure Israel’s full compliance with the Comprehensive Plan and prevent further obstruction.

Israel, they stressed, bears full responsibility for any consequences arising from continued rejection, delay or non-compliance.

The ministers reaffirmed the urgent need to implement the Comprehensive Plan in full and without delay to address Gaza’s humanitarian crisis, restore security and stability, and advance reconstruction and recovery.

They categorically rejected attempts to deny Palestinian statehood, stressing that lasting peace requires a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of the independent and sovereign Palestinian state, in accordance with international law and relevant UN resolutions.

The ministers also underscored the continued role of the Board of Peace, calling on it, with active US support, to take immediate and concrete measures to safeguard the Plan’s integrity, prevent obstruction and advance its second phase.
