TUNIS – Executive Chairman of the Forum of Specialized Arab Federations Ahmed al-Jarwan reiterated support to Egypt’s hosting of the United Nations Climate Change Conferences (UNCCC) COP 27, set for the Red Sea Resort City of Sharm el-Sheikh, in November highlighting the important role of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in creating ameliorate atmosphere and harnessing potentials that would help serve the entire Arab community.
In statements to MENA Sunday, the Arab official said the Arab League (AL) under Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit opens the door before Arab civil society organizations to support joint Arab Action, entrench Arab leadership vision, as well as convey prospects that would help support Arab leaders’ plans.
Al-Jarwan underlined the importance of having Arab specialized unions’ members actively participate in organizational work that would contribute to promoting joint Arab action, with a view to serving Arab countries’ interests.
The higher coordination committee for joint Arab action kicked off earlier in the day under the chairmanship of Arab League Chief Ahmed Abul Gheit.
Meetings will wrap on Tuesday.
The committee will tackle repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis on the Arab region as well as the outcome of the committees formed by the previous session of the higher coordination committee for joint Arab action.
The meeting is hosted by the Arab States Broadcasting Union in Tunis.
