Applying to join the Egyptian-Japanese schools for the academic year 2022-2023 starts tomorrow and lasts for 15 days through the following link: https://ejs4students.moe.gov.eg, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education announced on Monday.

The ministry confirmed that the applications will be electronically for the first level of kindergarten (KG1).

The schools’ website will soon announce the conditions for admission.

Some 51 Egyptian-Japanese schools will receive applications this year.

The Ministry of Education said in a statement yesterday that applying for first and second levels of kindergarten and first primary will be in three schools, the Egyptian-Japanese School in Al-Mustaqbal City, in Cairo, the Egyptian-Japanese School in Port Fouad, Port Said Governorate, and the Egyptian-Japanese School in Marsa Matrouh City.

Applications will also be accepted for the second level of kindergarten (KG2) and the third grade of primary school at schools that have free places.

The academic year 2022-2023 will see three new schools in the Egyptian-Japanese school system, bringing the total number of schools to 51 in 26 governorates.

The curricula delivered at those schools are Egyptian, but the holistic system is Japanese one dubbed Tokkatsu, which is activity to build the student’s character.

Over the past six years, the Education Ministry has been rolling out Egyptian-Japanese schools across the country in partnership with Japan. These schools, which are primarily geared towards children from middle-class families, are designed to provide students with a more holistic education experience, teaching life skills and encouraging character development along with academics.

Since the launch of the project in 2016, the goal has been to establish 100 Egyptian Japanese schools, and apply some of their activities to 100 public schools.
