Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialisation (AOI) Mokhtar Abdel Latif inspected on Tuesday a number of projects being implemented by the AOI in Assiut Governorate as part of the 1st phase of Egypt’s presidential “Decent Life” initiative.
Accompanied by Assiut Governor Mohamed Alwan, Abdel Latif toured projects in a number of villages to review construction progress and ensure they remain on schedule.
He stressed the importance of accelerating implementation in line with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives, while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
Abdel Latif also called for closer coordination with executive and consulting authorities to address any obstacles that may delay project completion.
As part of efforts to strengthen oversight, Abdel Latif directed the installation of surveillance cameras, supplied by the AOI’s Electronics Factory, to enable remote monitoring of project sites and allow for rapid intervention when challenges arise.
During the visit, Abdel Latif met engineers, contractors and workers to discuss ways of speeding up implementation and reaffirmed his commitment to conducting regular field inspections until the projects become operational.
On the sidelines of the tour, Abdel Latif and Governor Alwan discussed expanding cooperation to utilise the AOI’s manufacturing capabilities in supporting development projects across Assiut.
According to the governor, the “Decent Life” initiative includes 2,716 development and public service projects worth nearly LE80 billion across seven districts, 149 villages and 615 hamlets in the governorate.
