Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization,Walid Mokhtar Abdel Latif, met on Wednesday with Governor Hanan Magdy to discuss ways of leveraging the organization’s manufacturing capabilities to support comprehensive development projects in New Valley.
Talks focused on initiatives to create jobs through the supply of service vehicles, upgrading infrastructure, equipping smart classrooms, and implementing environmental protection projects. These include solid waste management, eco‑friendly furnaces for charcoal production, agricultural waste processing, water and wastewater treatment, and recycling of electronic waste and wood, alongside modernizing mechanical equipment in local districts.
On the industrial front, both sides reviewed progress on the project to manufacture medium‑density fiberboard (MDF) panels from palm fronds and the establishment of the “Arab Company for Compressed Wood Industry,” in partnership with the governorate and in coordination with the Ministry of Environment’s Waste Management Regulatory Authority.
Abdel Latif stressed that the project, based entirely on local raw materials from New Valley, will directly reduce import costs, save foreign currency, and meet domestic demand for wood products. Governor Magdy praised the organization’s technological and technical expertise, highlighting the importance of partnering with national institutions to support local development plans and promote domestic industries in line with global quality standards.
