President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has issued Presidential Decree No. 161 of 2026, reconstituting the Board of Directors of the State Information Service (SIS), as part of ongoing efforts to support national media institutions and enhance their role in effectively communicating Egypt’s positions and policies.
Under the decree, Ambassador Alaa El-Din Zakaria Youssef has been appointed Chairman of the SIS Board, while Professor Howaida Sayed Ali Mohamed Mostafa will serve as Vice Chairman.
The reconstituted board also includes Mohamed Fayez Farhat, Nevin Mohamed Kamel Omar, Mohamed Abdel Hamid Mohamed Fahmy, Abdel Moaty Abou Zeid Abdel Moaty, and Alaa El-Din Kamal Mohamed Thabet as members, serving for the remainder of the current board’s term.
The decree has been published in the Official Gazette.
