Egypt’s Grand Mufti Shawky Allam, who also chairs the General Secretariat For Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, said Egypt and Serbia are keen on promoting co-operation in various domains.
He said realising social peace and stability is a key objective of all religions.
He made the remarks during a meeting on Wednesday with Speaker of the Serbian National Assembly Dr Vladimir Orlic.
Allam underlined the key role of the parliament in promoting stability in communities through issuing the needed legislation, referring to the rich Egyptian experience in this regard.
Meanwhile, Orlic voiced appreciation to the pivotal role played by Egypt in the region, highlighting the importance of enhancing parliamentary ties with Egypt.
He added that maintaining peace and stability is a top priority to Serbia.
