Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Abul Gheit said on Tuesday that the reason why Libyan problems remain unsolved is internal divisions and foreign interferences, let alone the mercenaries.
Speaking in statements to Sky News Arabiya, Abul Gheit pointed to “very severe divisions between the east, west and south” of Libya.
Also, some regional parties clearly interfere in Libya’s domestic affairs and even send troops to the Arab country, the AL chief added, not excluding the presence of mercenaries as yet a third reason for the turmoil.
Abul Gheit’s statements came just three days ahead of the Libyan elections, which many local officials believe could not be possibly held on December 24 as scheduled.
