ALGIERS – Arab League (AL) Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit and Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Salem Abdullah al Jaber al Sabah stressed the need of reaching consensus on the various issues listed on the agenda of the 31st Arab Summit, which will be held in Algeria on November 1-2.
Amid unprecedented global challenges, the Arab countries should recognize the urgent need to attain more unity and close their ranks, the two officials affirmed during their meeting held on Saturday in Algeria.
The meeting also focused on issues related to the Arab Summit.
Abul Gheit was also keen to extend congratulations to the Kuwaiti official on his appointment as the foreign minister, said Spokesman for AL Secretary General Gamal Roshdi.
He also hailed the Kuwaiti minister’s long-term diplomatic experience, wishing him success during his tenure, added the spokesman.
The AL chief also pointed out to Kuwait’s crucial role in the joint Arab action, according to the spokesman.
