CAIRO – Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Egypt Dr. Khan Polukhov delivered an invitation from Azeri President Ilham Aliyev to Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb to attend the COP29 UN climate conference that will take place from November 11 to 22, 2024 in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
According to an official press release recently, the Grand Imam welcomed the invitation, sending his best regards to the Azeri president.
The Grand Imam voiced his wish that the event will contribute to serious discussions on climate change and come up with binding decisions that prods developed countries to support developing nations in their efforts to adapt to and mitigate the impacts of the global climate crisis.
