Egypt’s Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation El Sayed el Quseir on Saturday discussed with Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Egypt Mansour Bek Kelychiv means of boosting agricultural cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting falls within the framework of following up on the implementation of deals reached during Uzbekistan president’s last visit to Cairo where he met President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Minister Quseir, during the meeting, pointed out to the instructions issued by president Sisi following his Uzbek’s counterpart’s visit regarding boosting cooperation, saying that the state has been attaching great importance to the agriculture sector throughout the past few years, a move that contributed to boosting the agricultural exports.
The minister asserted his ministry’s keenness on promoting agricultural cooperation relations with Uzbekistan, especially with regard to seeds production and applying technologies of combating desertification.
Meanwhile, the Uzbek ambassador asserted his country’s keenness on boosting cooperation with Egypt in the domain of scientific research, with the aim of finding out innovative solutions for obstacles facing the agricultural sector.
