The Chemical Industries Export Council, led by Khaled Abul Makarem, will organise the AFRO PLAST Pan African International Exhibition for Plastic, Rubber and Non-Woven Technologies, Machinery, Materials and Products on May 18-21.
In a press release on Wednesday, the council’s executive manager Mohamed Mageid said that the expo will enable companies working in technology and production to inspect and open new markets in 12 countries in the Middle East and Africa regions.
The exhibition coincides with the state’s future vision to modernise this sector and find solutions to problems facing plastic waste management, he added.
The AFRO PLAST is expected to showcase the most modernised industrial technologies, applications and solutions serving the plastic, rubber and non-woven business segments whilst representing a unique business platform for international brands and key innovators.
It is set to take advantage of the boom in the Global non-woven fabrics market size that is projected to grow from $24.26 billion in 2017 to $34.85 billion by 2022, at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.51 per cent. The non-woven fabrics market is witnessing considerable growth due to the growth of modern healthcare in developing markets and rise in awareness of environmentally friendly fabrics.
For the first time of plastic processing technologies trade fairs in Africa, AFRO PLAST will feature the presence of 100 accredited buyers and factory owners from Kenya, South Africa, Morocco and Nigeria to hold open channels of communication directly with the exhibitors within a well set bilateral business meetings programme.
