CAIRO – President of the Arab Council for Human Rights (ACHR) Abdel Gawad Ahmed on Sunday hailed an initiative by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to enhance the role, participation and presence of women in judicial authorities.
Such steps are consistent with the principle of equality and equal opportunities enshrined in the constitution, and represent a positive and advanced step in Egypt’s human rights record, he added in a statement.
Enhancing women’s participation in various judicial bodies represents a continuation of the distinguished Egyptian experience in giving Egyptian women the right they deserve according to the standards of competence and merit, Abdel Gawad said.
