CAIRO – Secretary General of the Arab League Ahmed Abul Gheit welcomed a decision issued by Yemeni President Abd Rabu Mansour Hadi to form a presidential council and delegate power to it in a bid to end the bitter seven-year war in the country.
In a statement on Thursday, Abul Gheit asserted his support to the new presidential council, wishing hope that this council would lead the country towards peace.
Abul Gheit urged all Yemeni parties to maintain the current truce in Yemen which paves the way for holding serious negotiations to end the suffering of the Yemenis and restore stability and security in the country.
