CAIRO – Egypt’s Prosecutor General Hamada el Sawi said the forensic medical examination of the victims of the fire that broke out on Sunday morning at Abu Sefein Church in Imbaba, Giza, did not reveal any cause of death other than suffocation.

Earlier today, the top prosecutor said a team had rushed to the fire scene, accompanied with a forensic physician, to start necessary investigations.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit in an electrical generator, the top prosecutor added, noting that up till now, the fire had left 41 persons dead and 16 wounded.
