Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptians Abroad Badr Abdel-Aati reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering support for the United Nations and the multilateral international system, stressing the importance of upholding international law and the principles of the UN Charter.
His remarks came during a meeting on Sunday with the Republic of Costa Rica’s candidate for the post of Secretary-General of the United Nations, Rebecca Greenspan, who presented her vision for the organisation’s priorities during the coming period, focusing on strengthening the United Nations’ role and enhancing its capacity to address growing global challenges.
During the meeting, Abdel-Aati underscored Egypt’s commitment to supporting a more effective multilateral system capable of responding to evolving international developments while safeguarding the principles and objectives of the United Nations.
