CAIRO- Spokesman for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said Monday that 134 Egyptian citizens were evacuated from Sudan via air, while 334 others were evacuated via land.
On Sunday, Egypt announced the start of operations to evacuate its nationals from safe areas in Sudan in coordination with the Sudanese authorities.
So far, as many as 904 Egyptians have been repatriated from Sudan.
The Egyptian Embassy in Khartoum, consulates in both Khartoum and Port Sudan, and the consular office in Wadi Halfa in northern Sudan are coordinating with Egyptian nationals to secure their safe repatriation, the Ministry said in a statement.
