Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) Moustafa Sheikhon attended on Monday the laying of the foundation stone for the “Jieya-Jia Egypt” health products complex in Ain Sokhna Industrial Zone. Suez Governor Major General Hani Rashad attended the ceremony.

The project, a subsidiary of Tongling Jia Biotechnology Co., Ltd., will be established within TEDA Egypt’s new 2.86-square-kilometre expansion area.

With investments of $67 million, the complex covers approximately 160,000 square metres and will create 450 direct jobs.Production is scheduled to begin within two years, with annual capacity targeted at 8.1 billion single-use hygiene products.

The ceremony was attended by TEDA Egypt Managing Director Cao Hui, Jewellies Vice President Yuan Xiangyu and other executives.

The project reflects the successful partnership between the Suez Canal Authority and its investor partners and represents a new chapter in co-operation with strategic industrial developer TEDA Egypt, Sheikhon said.

He also highlighted the authority’s efforts to attract investment, localise industry, transfer advanced technology and integrate value chains in priority industrial and logistics sectors.

The project comes within the framework of the deep-rooted strategic Egyptian-Chinese relationship, which marked its 70th anniversary this year, the SCZone chief noted.

The SCZone is pursuing comprehensive economic, social and environmental development by leveraging its strategic location, ports and industrial zones on the Mediterranean and Red Seas, free-trade agreements providing access to more than 3.5 billion consumers, robust infrastructure, diverse energy sources, skilled labour and comprehensive investor incentives and services.

Sheikhon said the SCZone represents a practical solution for investors seeking to overcome global geopolitical challenges by connecting manufacturing and production areas with target markets and integrating supply chains.

He affirmed continued support for industrial developers and investors and efforts to build on previous achievements.
