Minister of Manpower Mohamed Safaan on Sunday underlined President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s high interest in the issues relevant to Arab labour, and real belief that solidarity and integration in this respect is a pillar of Arab action.

Minister Safaan made the remarks in his address to the 47th Arab Labour Conference (ALC), on behalf of President Sisi.

“No doubt entrepreneurship constitutes the growth locomotive for Arab economies,” Minister Safaan, President of the ALC, told the opening ceremony of the conference, held under the auspices of President Sisi.

The event runs until September 12. He added that capitalising on the available opportunities of Arab integration will benefit all the Arab countries which enjoy various fundamentals, topped with promising markets, financing and human capital.

The conference comes at exceptional and crucial circumstances, as the world has been suffering from perilous crises that affect the potential of all peoples, which prompts conscious participation and a comprehensive Arab view to build the future of the Arab nation.

Among the topic on the conference agenda is a report by the Arab Labour Organisation’s (ALO) Director General, themed “Entrepreneurship and small enterprises path to sustainable development and empowerment”.

The report stresses the importance of merging the Arab young people in the entrepreneurship economics, and empowering them in the field, Safaan said. It also outlines the features of the aspired Arab strategy of entrepreneurship, and paid attention to the development of education and vocational training for producing entrepreneurs of the future.

In addition, the agenda comprises two technical items that were carefully selected to cope with the director’s report, for a developmental constructive discussions. These are: The impact of the technological progress on work environment”, and “Requirements of green economy to provide job opportunities.”
