CAIRO – The third edition of the Aswan Forum for Sustainable Peace and Development will be held on June 21-22.
The forum will be held under the theme “Africa in an Era of Cascading Risks and Climate Vulnerability: Pathways for a Peaceful, Resilient and Sustainable Continent.”
This version reflects Egypt’s keenness to advance the Pan-African Action Agenda during the current sensitive stage witnessed by international relations.
The forum’s hybrid meetings will be held with both virtual participants and in-person attendees in Cairo.
It will discuss a number of important topics; boosting co-operation to combat terrorism, overcoming the repercussions of the coronavirus pandemic, achieving food security, and pushing forward post-conflict reconstruction and development efforts.
This year’s edition of the forum acquires a special place as it is an important milestone in setting the stage for the 27th session of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 27), which will take place in Sharm El-Sheikh in November.
