LUXOR – Work is underway to comprehensively renovate tombs at the Valley of the Kings in the city of Luxor, said Aly Reda, the director of the archaeological site.
The restoration is meant to better serve tourists visiting the East and West Banks of Luxor, said Reda.
Three tombs of ancient kings will be opened to visitors, while two will be closed during the restoration process, Reda said.
The tombs of King Ramses IX, King Seti II and King Siptah at the Valley of the Kings will reopen to visitors, the official said.
Architectural restoration will start at the tombs of King Ramses III and King Ramses VII, which will be closed to visitors, he added.
