The fourth edition of the Presidential Initiative “100 Days of Health” delivered 1,364,707 free medical services on its first day, as part of the state’s efforts to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare services across all governorates.

The drive is being carried out in line with the directives of Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar, who has stressed the importance of national health initiatives in improving the efficiency of the healthcare system and advancing universal health coverage, the ministry said in a statement.

Ministry Spokesman, Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar, said that 13 health sectors participated in the campaign through an integrated service-delivery model.

The Curative Care Sector provided 397,080 services, followed by the Primary Healthcare Sector with 325,578 services, hospitals affiliated with the General Authority for Health Insurance with 185,767 services, presidential public health initiatives with 131,663 services, and the General Authority for Teaching Hospitals and Institutes with 88,280 services.

The Preventive Medicine Sector delivered 78,233 services, while hospitals affiliated with the General Authority for Specialised Medical Centres provided 48,634 services. The Golden Thousand Days Initiative delivered 32,073 services, he added.

The campaign also issued 16,494 state-funded treatment decisions, provided 8,658 services through Therapeutic Institution hospitals, delivered 7,911 services under the “Your Health is Happiness” mental health initiative, and completed 5,280 surgeries through the national waiting-list initiative.

Abdel-Ghaffar noted that health awareness remained a key pillar of the campaign, with 39,056 citizens benefiting from health education activities delivered by community outreach teams in public squares, clubs and shopping centres nationwide.

The activities aim to encourage wider public participation in the campaign’s free healthcare services.
