‏The roundtable discussion followed the president’s inauguration of the 4th edition of the Smart Transport and Logistics and Green Transport Conference-cum-Exhibition in Cairo, a major event that brings together major local and international means of transport manufacturers.

‏The conference and the exhibition will last until November 10 at the International Fair Grounds in New Cairo.

‏President Sisi toured the different pavilions and booths of the exhibition and listened to participating company heads and officials.

‏Sisi: Egypt’s approach to development inclusive, supported by full stability, political will 13 - Egyptian Gazette

‏During the roundtable discussion, the president took part in an open dialogue with the heads of the international companies participating in the conference and the exhibition.

‏President Sisi welcomed the participation of these companies, describing them as partners in the current development process in Egypt and stressing the keenness of the state to maintain direct communication with foreign investors, Presidency Spokesman Bassam Radi said in a statement rounding up the event.

‏In this context, President Sisi stressed that such keenness reflects the state’s constant orientation to develop co-operation with foreign investors with the participation of the country’s private sector.

‏President Sisi stressed that Egypt is pursuing a comprehensive approach to development, which is supported by the highest level of political will and decision. It is also being pursued within a framework of stability that involves all political, security and economic components, the president added.

‏President Sisi also expressed hope that these companies would expand the scope of their activities in Egypt in the coming period to support the current construction and development process in the country, especially with regard to the localisation of industry, the transfer of knowledge and technology, training, and the honing of the skills of technical cadres.

‏He referred to the availability of modern infrastructure and various sources of energy in Egypt.

‏The president also referred to the services the Suez Canal Economic Zone can offer investors in this regard.

‏”Suez is a promising area that contains huge opportunities for investors and industrial activities,” the president said.

‏He added that this is especially true in the light of the stability Egypt enjoys at both security and economic levels.

‏Meanwhile, the company chiefs who took part in the roundtable discussion with the president lauded the efficiency and unprecedented pace of implementing national projects in Egypt. With such efficiency and pace of implementation, they added, Egypt has become a model of success in carrying out national projects.

‏They also said they are deeply interested in doing business in Egypt.

‏Some of the company heads referred to future expansion plans, especially in the light of the huge and promising investment opportunities provided by the public transport sector in Egypt.

‏This sector, they said, serves as a gateway for their investments in Egypt and Africa.

They also praised the progress made in terms of infrastructure efforts in Egypt and the measures taken to improve and encourage the investment climate in the country.
