Cementing Egypt’s position as the leading economy and facilitator of inter-regional trade, Transmar announces the expansion of its shipping service to call Aqaba Port, Jordan.
Transmar’s expansion strategy includes covering the most important ports in the Red Sea, including Adabiya, Sokhna, Jeddah, Port Sudan, Jebel Ali and now Aqaba in Jordan.
Sharing the company’s vision and expansion plans, Eng. Mohamed El Ahwal, Group CEO of IACC Holdings said: “Our experience over the last 4 decades serving partners in Egypt, KSA and Sudan, today, extends to Jordanian businesses. The total volume of trade between Egypt and Jordan, according to official figures during the period from January to November 2020, reached approximately $565.9 million, compared to an estimated $532 million during the same period in 2019, achieving an increase of 6.3%. In terms of Egyptian exports, there was an increase of 9.9% during the same period reaching $457.2 million compared to $416 million. With an increase of 16.2%, the balance of between the two countries during the period from January to November 2020 achieved a surplus in favor of Egypt with a value of $348.5 million compared to $299.8 during the same period in 2019.
