CAIRO – The Egyptian Red Sea resort city of Sharm El Sheikh is preparing to host the annual meetings of the African Development Bank Group on May 22-26, months after the successful organisation of the UN Climate change conference in COP27.
A statement issued by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Wednesday said the Bank mission under Vincent Nmehielle, the secretary general of the group, expressed happiness at the progress made so far in the preparations to host the meetings.
CBE governor Hassan Abdallah received Nmehielle to review the preparations and coordinate between the two sides.
Abdallah said the Sharm meeting reaffirms the political leadership’s keenness on promoting co-operation between Egypt and African countries.
The ADB mission hailed as strong the infrastructure of Sharm, which hosted COP27 in November.
