The activities of the international exhibition for water purification, desalination and wastewater treatment – Watrex Expo – kicked started on Sunday May 15, with the participation of more than 120 international and local companies in the field of water purification.
Dr Abdel Qawi Khalifa, former minister of water and wastewater utilities, as well as ambassadors of Thailand, Netherlands, Hungary, France, Japan, South Africa, Uganda, Rwanda, and Finland were present opening ceremony. The exhibition will last until May 17.
Praising the organisation of the exhibition, the participants expressed gratitude for being part of the largest event in the field of water purification, desalination and wastewater treatment in Egypt, Africa and the Middle East.
The exhibition coincides with the state’s policy for finalising developmental initiatives, foremost of which is Decent Life, a statement by the exhibition organising company said, stressing that the exhibition is a real opportunity to localise water technology inside Egypt.
The Watrex Expo had achieved unprecedented successes during its previous sessions, which explains the great demand by international companies in various countries to take part, it added.
For his part, former minister of water and wastewater utilities Khalifa said that this exhibition confirms Egypt’s access to era of water industry and technology, and represents a real opportunity, for all workers in drinking water and sanitation sector, to know and realise what Egypt has achieved in the current period of great progress and development in water technology industry.
Following the opening ceremony, the participants inspected the exhibition pavilions and stressed the quality of local products represented in pumps, valves, water pipes and other modern technology adopted in water treatment, purification and desalination, stressing that Egypt has reached a great position in the field of water technology.
